Joe Biden -- 2020?

Joe Biden -- 2020?
On April 25, 2019, Joe Biden announced that he will be running for president in the 2020 election. He was the vice president for Obama’s campaign and now is trying to secure the presidency for the third time.
If nominated, he will be the oldest Democratic presidential nominee in history. Also, if he is elected, he will share some common traits with Ronald Reagan in terms of age. Biden had been planning his campaign for some time and was going to make the announcement on April 24. However, prior to this, he received requests that people wanted to donate to his campaign entitled “Biden for President”. In March, Biden accidentally let it slip that he would be a candidate and made the pool of Democratic nominees even bigger.
Since 2016, there has been much speculation about Biden possibly running for president in 2020. In 2018, a political action committee was formed in order to keep his options open. Because of all of this, Biden’s announcement was no surprise, but also added to the growing number of Democratic candidates.
Biden has been criticizing the lack of foreign policy and many Democrats are hopeful that he will create building a bridge towards a more progressive era. Although perceived by the public as a moderate, he is actually the candidate with the most progressive agenda and record.

The future of Biden is uncertain, but there is still a long way to go. Currently, Biden has a large amount of support before the real election has even started. We will just have to wait and see…..

  1. Wow, I didn't know that Biden would be running in the 2020 campaign, I am quite eager to see if he will win or not because we haven't had a progressive candidate in a while. This really goes to show that even if your at old age like Ronald Reagan, it still isn't too late to run.

  2. I'm sure that his campaign will attract just as much if not more heat than Reagan did. Although they are from opposing parties, I believe that they are pretty similar in the sense that they are both looking to incite some real change to the legislation in the United States (although Reagan was more focused on economics and Biden is more focussed on progressive foreign policy).
