Shadows of Hiroshima

August 6, 1945, America dropped a uranium missile on Japan with a B-29 bomber. This was the first ever deployed atomic bomb. This event killed 70,000 people instantly with others exposed to radiation poisoning for months. The blast of the explosion left imprints of incinerated people on walls and steps. This was due to the heat from the explosion which changed the colour of the surfaces such as the person and objects.

  1. I also find it interesting that the US were able to win at the battle of Saipan, and were able to take the islands close enough to the Japanese homeland that the bombing was successful.
